Centerburg preschoolers didn’t have to go looking for a farm this week – it came to them.

Thanks to the school’s agricultural community partners, all three of the morning and afternoon classrooms participated in the visit by farm animals. The children were able to pet, feed and brush a sheep, a pig and goats.

“Centerburg celebrates farming in a big way,” said teacher Ellie Hughes. “From the Old Time Farming Festival to the Centerburg preschool classrooms, the culture of farming and the excitement that comes with it is front and center in the month of September.”

The preschool staff expressed their thanks to those who provided the animals – Chris and Aston Fielding, Sager Farms Boer Goats and McGuire Family showpigs.

In addition to Hughes, the Centerburg preschool staff includes teachers Wendi Hord and Stephanie Guilliams and teacher assistants Kim Stewart, Aimee Stowe and Heather Flanagan.
